I've attended the University of Nevada, Reno where I graduated in Spring 2016 with a B.S. in Geology. I have been accepted to grad school at the Universite de Lille1 in Villeneuve d'Ascq, in northern France. I will be attending Lille for as a M2 student (second year Masters)...in paleontology.
NY Times...Jack Oliver, Who Proved Continental Drift, Dies at 87.
Oliver's former student, Larry D. Brown, a professor of geological sciences at Cornell said “Jack was a great integrator. He was one who would stand back and say there’s a bigger picture here.”
We all should be like Jack...keeping our minds open to the bigger picture. It is easier to tunnel vision and to focus on the smaller picture. Next time you are looking ahead, don't forget to look behind you *_*
